Cloud Engineer

We are a fast-growing IT solutions provider, delivering cutting edge infrastructure and software services to the defence, national security and commercial sectors. As a Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services. You will work with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or others to build scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments which are optimised for performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

As a Cloud Engineer you will have a proven track record of designing and managing cloud infrastructure for production environments, with 3-5 years’ experience of working with cloud platforms, including the following capabilities:


It would be desirable if you held one or more of the following certifications:

  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.

Software Engineer

Infrastar has built strong relationships with world class partner organisations – your work will be varied, with both on the job and targeted training supplied to ensure that it remains challenging and enjoyable. 

As a member of Infrastar’s growing Software Development team, you may be working alongside our clients on their premises, helping to achieve our shared goals by providing consultancy across the full software development lifecycle, including:

  • Core software development
  • Software testing at all levels (unit, system & system integration)
  • Continuous integration activities
  • Software diagnostics
  • Deployment of bespoke software applications


Alternatively, you could work from our office in Gloucester, supporting the design, development, testing and release of bespoke software applications, as part of Infrastar’s in-house greenfield projects. 

You will have good communication skills, with a flexible approach to new ways of working. You will also be an analytical and innovative thinker, open to working with new technologies and with an ability to problem solve and a can-do attitude.

You will ensure that cloud solutions align with business goals, technical standards, and compliance requirements and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business, including IT leadership, development teams, and external partners, to deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
